Jeel al Amal
in the Media

A video of the dancing girls of the kindergarten is on You Tube.

It is the first video made with the camera, that we we were able to buy thanks to our Dutch donors. It was filmed by Abed El Majid (Grade 8) and Jibreel (Grade 6).

Jeel al Amal is also active on FaceBook.
To all friends of Jeel al Amal

For the fourth consecutive year Jeel al Amal celebrated the end of the school year with the open day activities. Each year the children have something to show, a new song, a musical instrument or a dance. Year after year we see our children grow in their talents and in their self confidence to perform in front of an audience.

This year's open day celebrations focused on commemorating the Jeel Al Amal sports team and their training activities with Trainer Majdi Selwadi, who recently got a diploma from Birzeit University in Sports Management. Majdi is spending much time training the children. In several competitions with other schools in the West Bank the children of Jeel al Amal managed to win prizes on different levels.

During the celebrations some of the children were honoured for their achievements with a humble gift and a certificate. Others received credit for for their achievements and the progress they have shown throughout the year despite their difficulties.

Amongst the audience was the chairman of the Local Council in Bethany, the chief of the industries and crafts division in that Council and many other distinguished guests.

With much joy the children performed, danced and sang from the depth of their hearts. They truly excelled in their performance. After all it was an occasion during which the children get the chance to express themselves.

At the end there was the opening of an exhibition of teaching aids, all hand made by the teachers and children, with the participation of some mothers. In one of the exhibited items the "maths village" was represented in a very lovable way. Next year the exhibited materials will be used intensively by all students in all grades. The theme of the exhibition was "Despite my difficulties I will accomplish my ambitions".

It was the grand finale of a wonderful day which everybody enjoyed!
