To all friends of Jeel al Amal

On the 30th of April the Jeel al Amal football team travelled to Qalandia elementary school. In that village, north of Jerusalem, they were to compete in the final round of the schools championship.

Our team had reached the finals after competing with 12 other schools in a preliminary tournament in the Jerusalem Governates. In all five teams took part in the finals and Jeel al Amal was one of them.

The Jeel al Amal team played with great enthousiasm and skill. In fact, they were the best and won first place! Abed El Rahman Yousef of our team played so well, that he was topscorer of the tournament. The Director of activities in the Ministry of Education announced the results and handed the cup to the proud team.

Majdi Selwadi, Jeel al Amal's trainer, got tears in his eyes watching the joy of the winning team dancing with the cup.

Very happy and proud, the boys posed for a team photo which appeared in Al Quds, the most read newspaper in Palestine the following day. At the end of the day all competing teams were invited to lunch and they enjoyed a wonderful meal together.

We are so proud of our children!
