A video of the dancing girls of the kindergarten is on You Tube.

It is the first video made with the camera, that we we were able to buy thanks to our Dutch donors. It was filmed by Abed El Majid (Grade 8) and Jibreel (Grade 6).

To all friends of Jeel al Amal

Ahmed Sami came to Jeel Al Amal as a little child of three years old. This is where he grew up and he considers Jeel Al Amal to be his home.

For Ahmed this year though was different from the previous years as he was studying hard for the governmental exams which we call in our country Tawjihi Exams. With hard work and dedication Ahmed graduated with high grades and was accepted to study Medicine in Bucharest University in Romania.

It was his dream since a little child and how often had he dreamt about it! As a little child he always wanted to examine his toys and had the doctor’s tools as his own play toys. Coming from a social background where financial means were very scarce, his dream of becoming a doctor never wavered. Jeel AL Amal believed in him and it was our wish to try and help him any way we could.
“I want to treat people,
save lives
and do good wherever I am.”

Ahmed Sami

As Jeel AL Amal’s budget is very limited we tried to reach out for kind friends who would help us in our pursuit.  Finally our prayers were answered and we got a positive reply from our friends in Madrid saying that they agreed to fully sponsor his tuition fees and much to our delightful surprise his living expenses too.

When Ahmed heard the news he literally cried and got us all emotional. Finally his dream is becoming reality! His childhood dream of becoming a doctor is starting with this very first step. As the proverb says the walk of a thousand miles starts with one single step.

Ahmed is definitely starting his journey  with this single step which will undoubtedly shape his future. “I want to treat people, save lives and do good wherever I am”, this is what Ahmed said before leaving on his journey . Last week Ahmed left for Romania, he is settling in and registering at the University there.

Ahmed Sami would not have made it without the support of our kind friends who made this possible for him. Words cannot express our thanks and appreciation for helping us secure a bright future for the children of Jeel Al Amal.
